Kim Sun-ki began his career in jazz scenes in 2013 when he released The Journey of Gonia, a jazz trio. Since then, he has continued his diverse career by releasing Compassion, Day Break by jazz band DayTrip

and Freedom by K.R. Project. 

Joining bassist Kim Chang-hyun's <deconstruction>, guitarist Jun Kim's <Cosmic Aesthetic> and <Myself> in 2018, his album <Yi-sang> is presenting a new drumming of avant-garde music, drawing on his own unique Korean identity in the style of Eastern mysticism and avant-garde. It is also active in forming the Electro acoustic Trio SaaamKiiim.

김선기는 2013년 재즈 트리오 Gonia의 <The journey of Gonia> 를 발매하면서 재즈씬에서 활동을 시작하였다. 그 후 <Compassion>과 재즈밴드 DayTrip의 <Day Break>, K.R Project의  <Freedom>을 발매하며 다양한 활동을 이어나갔다. 

2018년에 베이시스트 김창현의 <해체 解體>와 기타리스트 Jun Kim의 <Cosmic Aesthetic>, <Myself>에 참여하면서 avant-garde music의 새로운 드러밍을 선보이고 있으며, 자신의 앨범인 <이상 伊桑>에서는 동양의 신비주의와 avant-garde 스타일로 한국인으로서의 정체성을 찾는 과정을 그리며 김선기만의 독자적인 사운드를 구상하고 있다. 또한 일렉트로어쿠스틱 트리오 SaaamKiiim 을 결성하여 왕성한 활동을 하고 있다.
